Soul - Connecting
Soul at Lumeah is about slowing down, softening your defences and remembering you are more than what you do.
Through gentle practices that connect body, breath and nature, we create space for you to feel grounded, held and part of something bigger.

Soul work at Lumeah is about remembering that you are more than your to-do list, your job title, or the roles you play for other people. It is about reconnecting with the part of you that is steady and whole underneath the stress, and feeling linked to something bigger than yourself, whether that is nature, community, spirituality, or simply a sense of meaning.
Our soul practices are designed to be accessible, nurturing and deeply human. Yoga with Sophie is suitable for all levels, including complete beginners, people who feel “not flexible enough” and those who have not moved much in a long time. Sessions are invitational rather than performative. You are guided to notice your breath, your grounding and the internal sensations of each posture, so that you can come home to your body with curiosity instead of judgement. Options are always offered, so you can rest, adapt or intensify according to what feels right for you in that moment. Over time, this kind of yoga becomes less about making shapes and more about building a compassionate relationship with yourself.
Breathwork, grounding and somatic release therapy build on this by giving you practical, repeatable tools to calm and regulate your nervous system. You will learn simple breathing patterns to shift your body out of threat mode and into a state that feels safer and more settled. Somatic work gently guides you to notice where tension is held, how emotions show up physically, and how small movements, stretches and releases can help that energy move through instead of staying stuck. These moments of tuning in are part of soul work, because they teach you that your body is not the enemy, it is a source of wisdom and signal.
Sound baths offer another pathway into this sense of connection. During a sound bath, you lie or sit comfortably while instruments such as crystal bowls, chimes and gongs are played in a slow, intentional way. These instruments create rich layers of sound and vibration that wash over you. Many sound practitioners work with specific frequencies measured in hertz (Hz). For example, some bowls are tuned around 432 Hz or 528 Hz, which are often associated in sound healing traditions with deep relaxation, heart connection and a sense of harmony. Whether or not you focus on the numbers, your nervous system is responding to vibration and rhythm. The steady tones, gentle sweeps of sound and periods of resonance can help your brain shift away from busy, analytical thinking into quieter, more spacious states. People often describe feeling both deeply relaxed and quietly connected to something larger than themselves after a session, even if they cannot quite put that feeling into words.
Art therapy gives expression to the parts of your inner world that are harder to capture in sentences. You do not need to be “good at art.” Using colour, line, shape and image allows stories, memories and emotions to surface in a way that can feel safer and less exposed than talking alone. The process of creating becomes a dialogue between your conscious mind and your deeper self. When that process is supported and witnessed with care, it can help you feel more integrated, less fragmented and more understood, both by yourself and by others.
Boxing and other more energetic forms of movement might seem like an unusual addition to soul work, yet they are incredibly powerful for reconnecting with your life force. With the right guidance, boxing becomes a way of safely channelling anger, fear and frustration that may have been held inside for years. Each punch, each strong stance, is both a physical action and a symbolic one: “I am here. I am strong. I am allowed to take up space.” When this is combined with grounding practices before and after, it supports you to feel powerful and present without tipping into overwhelm.
Throughout the retreat, grounding practices weave through everything we do. This might look like feeling your feet on the earth before a session, practising a simple sensory check-in on the terrace, or taking a few conscious breaths while looking at the mountains or the sea. These small rituals remind your brain and body that you are here, you are safe enough, and you are allowed to pause. Over time, these practices help you build a sense of inner steadiness that you can carry back into everyday life.
We also invite you to connect beyond the walls of the villa. The catamaran tour is an opportunity to step out onto open water, to feel the salt air, to watch the coastline from a different perspective, and, if we are lucky, to see dolphins swimming alongside the boat. There is something quietly transformative about being held by the sea, noticing the vast horizon and realising that your worries, while valid, exist within a much bigger and more beautiful world. Moments like this often help people reframe what matters, release a little of what they are carrying, and reconnect with a sense of awe.
Together, yoga, breathwork, sound baths, somatic release, grounding, boxing, art therapy and time in nature are not a random collection of activities. They are carefully chosen threads that all lead to the same place: connection. Connection to your own body and breath, connection to your emotions and story, connection to the people sharing the space with you, and connection to the wider world around you. This is the soul of Lumeah: creating an experience where you can gently return to yourself, while feeling held by something bigger.
