Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing
EMDR at Lumeah
When you are functioning on the outside but something inside still feels unresolved, it can be frustrating, and quietly exhausting. At Lumeah, we offer EMDR as a focused, evidence-based way to help you process what has been held in the nervous system, so you can move forward with more ease, clarity, and choice.

EMDR is not about endlessly revisiting the past. It is about helping the brain and body complete the processing that did not happen at the time, so the present stops being interrupted by old material.

What EMDR does
After overwhelming experiences, the brain does not always store memories as “over and done.” Instead, they can remain active as distressing images, intense emotion, physical tension, shutdown, anxiety, irritability, or a persistent sense of threat or self-doubt.

EMDR works with how memory is stored across images, emotions, body sensations, and meaning. Using bilateral stimulation such as guided eye movements, alternating taps, or sounds, we help the brain reprocess what is stuck so it becomes part of your history, rather than something that keeps pulling you back.

Clients often notice:

-
Reduced emotional charge and reactivity
-
A calmer, more responsive nervous system
-
Increased self-trust and a softer internal narrative
How we offer EMDR at Lumeah
We deliver EMDR in a way that matches your goals, pace, and lifestyle:

-
One-to-one EMDR for tailored, steady work
-
EMDR intensives for concentrated progress in a short timeframe
-
Group EMDR using G-TEP, where you process privately without sharing your story aloud
-
EMDR-informed coaching for leadership, performance, visibility, and life transitions
Why intensives appeal and work
Weekly therapy can be highly effective, but it is not always practical. For many high-performing professionals, the stop-start rhythm can dilute momentum.

An intensive creates a protected psychological space. You are not trying to process between meetings, travel, and obligations. Instead, you have time to go deeper, then rest, integrate, and let change consolidate. Intensive EMDR can deliver the momentum and depth of months of weekly therapy in a single, protected week. We offer this held inside a calm and luxurious environment designed for recovery and reset, making it a highly cost-effective option because you reduce the stop-start gaps and get more therapeutic progress for your time and investment. On top of that research shows us that it is a really effective way to deliver this therapy.

Group EMDR, done discreetly
If you are private by nature, group work can still feel surprisingly comfortable. In G-TEP, you do not describe your trauma aloud. Your processing is your own, guided by a structured protocol and supported by the steadiness of a small, carefully held group.

We often combine group and individual sessions, so you benefit from both the discreet power of shared space and the precision of one-to-one depth.

How your work is held from start to finish
-
Before you arrive, we assess suitability, clarify goals, and begin preparation so you arrive resourced and steady
-
During your stay, we balance depth with nervous system care, with integration time built into the schedule
-
Afterwards, we offer follow-up sessions online and, where appropriate, can liaise with your existing therapist for continuity
