Dr Carla Rainbow (Carla) is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and registered Counselling Psychotherapist with over 15 years of clinical and therapeutic experience spanning a variety of settings, including the National Health Service (NHS), the Public Prison Service, and private charitable organisations.
She is HCPC registered, a Chartered Psychologist and an Associate Fellow with the British Psychological Society (BPS) where she is also on the RAPPS register as an approved supervisor. In addition Carla is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) on their accredited register.
Carla's formal training includes: Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Dip TC), Diploma in Social Policy and Criminology (Dip SP&C), Foundation Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy (FD), BSc (Hons) in Criminology and Psychological Studies (First Class), Postgraduate Diploma in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (PG Dip), MSc Psychology (Distinction) where she was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence), and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy). Her qualifications have been verified to EuroPsy standard, and she holds a EuroPsy certificate, meaning they meet or exceed requirements across European countries.
Carla is a fully trained DBT therapist and a member of the Society for Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (SfDBT). She is also a qualified EMDR therapist, having completed EMDR training with EMDR Academy UK, and is a member of the EMDR Association. In addition to DBT & EMDR she is fully trained in a number of therapeutic modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy.
Carla maintains full professional insurance and ICO membership for data protection, reflecting her commitment to ethical, safe and accountable practice.
