Sharon is a private chef and founder of Munro catering. She is responsible for all the cuisine whilst you are here at Lumeah. Sharon shares our values about nourishing the whole person, which is why we chose her to work with us, oh and her food is delicious!.
Sharon says - Hello, I’m Sharon Munro, originally from the beautiful Scottish Borders town of Kelso. After leaving home to study Business and Hospitality at university in Newcastle, I began a career in hospitality that now spans more than 40 years. During this time, I’ve worked across almost every area of the industry – from Front of House and Chef roles to Operations and Events Management – and even owned my own pub and restaurant in Fife. It was there that I met my husband, Brian, and we have now been happily married for ten wonderful years.
In 2020, when Brian retired, we followed our hearts to Spain and settled in the charming white village of Frigiliana. After many holidays on the Costa del Sol, we had fallen in love with the year-round sunshine and relaxed way of life. Five years on, I run a thriving catering business that allows me to do what I love most – cooking – while enjoying life in this beautiful part of the world. Our two lively Cocker Spaniels, Isla and Skye, keep us on our toes, and with friends and family frequently visiting, our home is often affectionately nicknamed “Hotel Munro”.

Cookery classes: Throughout the winter months, I run hands-on cookery classes at our villa and at Millers Hotel in Frigiliana. You may even have spotted me on television during my appearance on New Life in the Sun, filmed as part of Tanya Miller’s journey as a hotel owner.
Homemade ready meals: For those craving a taste of home, I prepare delicious, ready-cooked freezer meals – ideal for busy weeks or for comforting winter evenings.
Private chef services: In summer, I work as a personal chef for holidaymakers, offering anything from a one-off meal to full catering throughout your stay, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. With bespoke menus, high-quality ingredients and access to professional equipment and staff, I can provide exactly the level of service you require.
Whether you are planning relaxed sharing platters, a family celebration, or a full sit-down dining experience with tableware and staff included, I create menus that are designed around you. Bespoke doesn’t have to mean expensive, it simply means you get exactly what you want.
I am passionate about great food. Even the simplest dishes are prepared with care, using the freshest local produce that Spain is so famous for. My aim is to help you create special memories and enjoy a holiday you will never forget.
